Baseball & Softball are Out!
USA Today July 8, 2005
SINGAPORE Baseball and softball are out of the Olympics
as of 2012, in a vote that surprised even longtime International
Olympic Committee members. "There were a lot of people
that said they supported us and obviously didn't,"
said Don Porter, president of the International Softball
Federation.

Prentup Field is
now Rectangular
Baseball became the first organized sport at the University
of Colorado in 1882. CU's ballfield was named after Frank
"Chief" Prentup who coached CU baseball for 24
years. CU ended its intercollegiate baseball program in
1980 because of budget problems but the promise of reinstating
the program was dashed in 2005 when Prentup Field was destroyed
and resurected as a soccer
pitch. CU's Club Baseball is now without a home.

Scholarships Near Extinct
If you are a High School baseball player and you get a baseball
scholarship you will probably get a good summer job because
you will need to come up with another $10,000 - $30,000
per year to play. The average scholarship on a 40-player
roster will cover only 29% of tuition, fees, books, room
and board. Do you think the promise of a full sholarship
is funneling hundreds of top baseball prospects into football?
Here's
what Coach Polk has to say.
Rectanular Sports
Dominate Community Budgets
Over the past decade the city of Boulder, Colorado has gained
ten new regulation soccer fields, and two additional football/soccer
fields were upgraded from grass to artificial turf. During
that time one of the three regulation baseball fields was
converted to a soccer field. The one city owned baseball
field was renovated, but only through private donations.
How do I apply the yardlogo decal to my rear window?
- Don't apply if the air temperature is below 50 degrees.
- Clean the area where the logo will be applied.
- Peel the backing from the decal.
- Press the decal onto the window.
- Rub the decal vigorously to make good contact.
The edge of a credit card can be useful in getting a
good adhesive seal.
- Peel away the remaining paper and you're done!
How do I remove the yardlogo decal?
- To peel away the vinyl, lift and edge with a finger
nail or ice scrapper, then pull away.
- If some adhesive remains on the window, clean it with
a adhesive remover such as Goof
Off.
- Removable decals won't leave a residue if removed within
six months of application.
How long will yardlogo decals last?
Yardlogo decals are made with high quality 3M vinyl. Under
typical conditions they should last about three years.
If you live in a cold climate, be careful when scraping
ice around your decal. The removable decals will naturally
have a shorter lifespan that is dependent upon use.
