YardLogo was started in the spring of 2021 by Keegan Masser while he was a senior at Prior Lake High School. Keegan was taking PSEO classes at the University of Minnesota and grew bored with the COVID-era Zoom classes, so he began to build out the idea he had (with the help of his mom).
In the first year, Keegan painted 19 logos entirely freehand, without any stencils. After finishing his freshman year at the Carlson School of Management, Keegan wanted to continue to run YardLogo, so he sought out a way to make logos quicker and easier. His trial-and-error approach to finding the perfect stencil paid off, and YardLogo expanded to do 36 logos in 2022. The following summer, Keegan secured an internship in Wisconsin, but wanted to continue running YardLogo despite working 40 hours a week, so he hired Alec Preslicka to help him paint logos. Together, the team created almost 20 new stencils and painted 50 logos in 2023.
In 2024, Keegan went to Dublin, Ireland in the spring to study abroad, so he had to do a lot of the behind-the-scenes work to get the business running from Europe. He knew it would be another record-setting year for YardLogo, so he hired two new painters, Jack Sand and Dominic Lelemsis, to help out. Additionally, Keegan hired his younger brother, Kerrick Masser, to help run the marketing on Instagram and Facebook. While Keegan was working at his internship during the day, Dom and Jack were very busy painting logos and caddying at their golf courses. The team indeed had a banner year, churning out 64 beautiful logos.
2025 looks to be another promising year, and the YardLogo team is so excited to be back out on the grass when the weather gets nice!
